Job Description

The Project Engineer is responsible for providing technical leadership by identifying, developing and executing capital projects for the factory. This position will maintain visibility to the design process and assure adherence to all established key components and project deliverables as well as directly manage overall project execution including construction and commissioning. Additionally, this position will coordinate with the client as well as various other groups inside and outside of the organization.

Job Responsibility

  • Preliminary Project Development including Charter development
  • Assist in development of pre-project approval documents
  • Monitor design progress and deliverables
  • Receive design details from design team
  • Select contractors and contracting methods
  • Project Execution support and facilitation
  • Direct and execute installation, construction, and commissioning of assigned projects
  • Manage adherence to project scope and secure approvals for all changes
  • Manage and control project budget
  • Manage and maintain project milestone schedules
  • Manage data collection and feedback process for projects
  • Monitors processes for compliance with quality and GMP requirements
  • Provide construction management and plant startup assistance
  • Evaluate, select, and issue contracts for construction firms
  • Provide self-directed project management of assigned projects
  • Administrative / Business support
  • Monitor work output from less senior engineers
  • Provide technical support to Factory operations
  • Support and participate in Nestlé Continuous Excellence (NCE) and Total Performance Management (TPM)

Requirements

  • (BA/BS) or equivalent experience and minimum 1+ years of related work experience
  • Project Management experience 1+years, leading on projects less than $1 million
  • Leveraging PMI Project management institute stage gate procedures and tools
  • Basic knowledge in I & I pillar project methods
  • Able to manage Scope, Cost Schedule and risks on small and minor projects
  • Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills
  • Ability to analyze data
  • Ability to using problem solving techniques to resolve issues and implement change
  • Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to complete major projects in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to schedule resources effectively so continuous improvement is not sacrificed for day to day results
