Summit Skilled Solutions is seeking a Project Engineer / Field Engineer to support project teams by managing financial reporting, cost tracking, documentation, and field coordination activities. This role works closely with the Project Manager and Field Engineer to ensure accurate reporting, contract compliance, and efficient project execution.
Job Responsibility:
Prepare accurate and timely construction financial data, including force account tracking
Maintain job cost systems and update forecasts
Generate weekly manhour reports and monthly pay applications
Verify work-in-place quantities for invoicing and subcontractor payments
Review and approve craft timecards for accuracy and proper cost coding
Monitor DBE payments and compliance
Maintain organized project filing systems
Process purchase orders, invoices, subcontractor payments, and owner billings
Assist with project status reports, meeting minutes, and project meetings
Prepare correspondence to owners, subcontractors, engineers, and architects as directed
Maintain submittal and RFI logs

Maintain as-built drawings and jobsite photo documentation
Interpret plans and specifications

Ensure completed work complies with drawings, specifications, codes, and special provisions
Coordinate inspections and testing activities
Recognize changing site or contract conditions and notify project leadership
Assist with project closeout activities
Assist with weekly toolbox talks, safety inspections, and incident investigations
Maintain all required project safety documentation
Support compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements
Assist with field new-hire processing as needed
Communicate and reinforce company values, vision, and goals
Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
Strong computer skills and proficiency with construction software
Basic understanding of construction cost analysis
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
Team-oriented mindset
Professional registration or EIT certification encouraged
