This role exists to ensure the successful execution of site capital investments, from initial evaluation and approval through implementation and project closure, while fully complying with Unilever policies, standards, and safety requirements. You will play a key role in driving operational excellence, safety, and value creation, leading engineering projects that enable the site to deliver high performance, reliability, and sustainable growth.
Job Responsibility:
Lead the end-to-end execution of capital investment projects (CAPEX) at site level, ensuring delivery on scope, cost, timeline, and safety targets
Ensure full compliance with Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) standards, leading Construction Safety and promoting a zero-accident culture for contractors and employees
Apply and lead Unilever Manufacturing System (UMS) methodologies, with strong ownership of the EEM and EPM (Early Equipment & Product Management) pillars across projects
Plan, coordinate, and execute approved annual capital projects, ensuring budget control, OTIF delivery, and proper capitalization
Manage project budgets, purchase requests, technical specifications, supplier selection, and coordination with Procurement in line with Unilever policies
Lead Construction Management, including contractor supervision, permits, risk assessments, and work authorizations
Ensure effective Change Management throughout all project implementations at the site
Coordinate with local, regional, and global T&E teams to ensure compliance with standards, specifications, and technical documentation
Participate in the conceptualization, basic and detailed engineering design, technical evaluation of equipment, and commissioning activities
Align with Production, Strategy, and Planning teams to schedule plant shutdowns required for installation and commissioning with minimal impact to demand
Maintain accurate project tracking, reporting, asset registration, and technical documentation (drawings, manuals, MP files)
Support Manufacturing in resolving chronic equipment issues through engineering expertise and loss analysis
Actively participate in regional project forums and ensure proper governance, approvals, closures, and write-offs (CAPEX, R2, WO) within DRA
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (completed and certified)
Proven experience leading engineering and capital projects in manufacturing or industrial environments
Strong knowledge of CAPEX control, budget management, and project governance
Solid understanding of Mexican regulatory standards (NOM-STPS) related to safety, health, and environment
Advanced English proficiency
Nice to have:
Experience with Project Management methodologies, TPM / WCM / UMS
Experience in manufacturing, maintenance, or FMCG environments
Knowledge of Power BI, MS Project, CAD, and basic financial analysis
