The Project Engineer is a highly motivated and detail-oriented position specialized in injection molding and overall process integration. The Project Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the design, development, and production processes of injection molded components, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget while maintaining high-quality standards.
Job Responsibility
Lead and manage injection molding projects from concept through production, ensuring adherence to timelines and project milestones
Collaborate with design engineers to develop product specifications, prototypes, automation, and tooling designs for injection molding processes
Conduct feasibility studies and cost analyses for new projects, identifying potential risks and developing mitigation strategies
Oversee the setup, testing, and validation of injection molding processes, including process parameter optimization to enhance product quality and efficiency
Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality assurance, and supply chain management, to ensure seamless project execution
Assist in the evaluation and selection of materials suitable for injection molding processes, considering performance and cost factors
Analyze production data and troubleshoot issues related to injection molding operations to drive continuous improvement efforts
Prepare and present detailed project reports, including status updates, project budgets, and timelines, to Program Management
Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to injection molding and project management
Drive continuous improvement initiatives and drive Lean Manufacturing principles
Maintain 5S related responsibilities within the manufacturing environment to comply with internal standards
Requirements
Associate’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Plastics Engineering, or a related field
Strong understanding of injection molding materials, tooling, process parameters, and machinery
Proficient in CAD software (SolidWorks) and injection molding simulation tools
Strong understanding of injection molding processes, tooling design, and materials science
Solid analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
