Airswift is seeking a PRA Engineer to support a Risk-Informed Capital Initiatives team within a nuclear environment. This role is responsible for contributing to the development and implementation of strategic, risk-informed applications across a nuclear fleet. The position will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to develop and deploy risk-informed decision-making tools and processes that enhance safety, optimize operations, and ensure regulatory compliance.
Job Responsibility
Support the development and implementation of risk-informed applications including Risk-Informed Completion Times
Surveillance Frequency Control Program
10 CFR 50.69 categorizations and Alternative Treatments
Research and provide technical documentation to support internal and third-party stakeholders
Coordinate technical reviews with plant and site resources
Analyze and resolve system design and operational issues related to PRA and 50.69 activities
Provide engineering expertise to identify, analyze, and resolve complex technical issues
Evaluate impacts at both system and fleet levels and present recommendations
Develop technical bases, reports, calculations, and supporting documentation
Perform engineering studies and coordinate cross-functional inputs
Support project execution including planning, scheduling, and reporting
Maintain accurate project records in accordance with company standards
Communicate effectively with technical teams and leadership stakeholders
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (ABET-accredited or equivalent)
Minimum of 8 years of relevant engineering experience (nuclear experience strongly preferred)
Experience with Boolean logic development and/or large fault tree analysis
Background in the utility industry, preferably in engineering or operations at a plant/site level
Familiarity with BWR or PWR systems
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Demonstrated ability to manage schedules, deliverables, and reporting requirements
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaborate within cross-functional teams
Nice to have
Advanced knowledge of PRA methodologies and risk-informed applications, including RI-ISI, 10 CFR 50.69, Risk-informed technical specifications
Experience with PRA software such as CAFTA and/or PHOENIX Risk Monitor
RO or SRO license, certification, or technical nuclear certification
Project management experience (PMP or MBA preferred)
Proven ability to improve processes and develop engineering standards
