The Project Engineer will oversee and manage all engineering and construction projects at the petroleum terminal, ensuring compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and operational efficiency. This role requires strong technical expertise in petroleum infrastructure, project management skills, and a deep understanding of regulatory and environmental requirements.
Job Responsibility:
Lead the planning, design, execution, and close-out of terminal projects including tank maintenance, pipeline installations, loading rack upgrades, and automation systems
Develop project scopes, budgets, schedules, and resource plans
Coordinate with internal stakeholders, contractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure project alignment and compliance
Monitor project progress, manage risks, and implement corrective actions as needed
Ensure all projects adhere to petroleum industry standards including API, NFPA, OSHA, and local environmental regulations
Prepare and present technical reports, drawings, and documentation for project approvals and audits
Support terminal operations with engineering solutions to improve safety, reliability, and efficiency
Maintain accurate records of project activities, expenditures, and performance metrics
Conduct site inspections and ensure contractor adherence to safety and quality standards
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Petroleum Engineering (or related field)
Minimum 5 years of experience in project engineering within the petroleum, oil & gas, or terminal operations sector
Strong knowledge of petroleum terminal infrastructure including tanks, pipelines, pumps, and loading systems
Familiarity with industry standards and codes such as: API (American Petroleum Institute) Standards, NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) Codes, OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) Regulations, EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) Guidelines
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and CAD tools
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, safety-critical environment
