Job Description:

Olsson offers its clients a full spectrum of water services, including a complete line of planning, design, permitting, and construction phase services. As a Project Engineer on our Water Resources team, you will apply diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices to a broad variety of assignments and independently make decisions regarding engineering complexities. This role generates ideas and creates designs that provide purposeful, high-quality solutions to successfully solve engineering and design needs.

Job Responsibility:

  • Handle complex engineering tasks, including project design, cost estimation, and calculations using advanced expertise
  • Prepare project documents and ensure work aligns with scope, schedule, and budget
  • Independently develop new techniques, coordinate with Olsson teams, and guide others on design tasks
  • Collaborate with project managers to report progress and identify challenges
  • Assist with scopes and schedules as well as attend client meetings
  • May supervise and provide technical guidance to less experienced staff
  • Provide guidance related largely to overall objectives, critical issues, and new concepts
  • Maintain project and client information in the firm’s project management system
  • May travel and work in all types of terrain and weather conditions at project sites in various stages of construction

Requirements:

  • Professional engineering license (PE)
  • Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering
  • 6 years or more of engineering experience
  • Experience in stormwater and water resources
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to contribute and work well with a team
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to represent Olsson in a professional manner at all times

Nice to have:

Proficiency in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, master planning, stream restoration, or stormwater design
