Job Description

Employees in this job complete a variety of professional engineering assignments. The duties of a water resource project engineer will vary between positions, but generally, a water resource engineer works on designing pump systems, water and wastewater treatment plants, and pipelines.

Job Responsibility

  • Complete studies, reports, and investigations of water, wastewater, and drainage issues based upon needs and desires of clients
  • Work closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects
  • Develop plans, specifications, and probable opinion of construction cost estimates for water and wastewater projects
  • Complete design calculation utilizing spreadsheets and computer-based design software
  • Complete computer modeling for water distribution, wastewater collection and drainage systems
  • Prepare permit applications relative to water and wastewater facilities
  • Remain updated on current professional practices and maintain a high awareness of new products and procedures in industry by monitoring trade publications and actively participating in professional associations
  • Cooperate and communicate effectively with project manager and other project participants and provide technical support

Requirements

  • 0-4 Years of Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or environmental engineering
  • EIT Preferred
  • Sufficient experience and proper competency to serve project engineering client needs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organization and time management skills
