Job Description:

As a Project Engineer, Rivers and Dykes, you will join our engineering team to provide remote technical support for small-scale and less complex tenders, projects, and designs, as well as parts of medium to complex ones. Your role ensures that projects meet agreed requirements such as safety, quality, time, budget, legal regulations, and more. You will have the opportunity for personal and professional growth by working on unique and complex projects in the Netherlands, including the design, construction, and maintenance of dykes and water barriers.

Job Responsibility:

  • Drafting specifications and procedures for the realization of tenders, projects, and designs
  • Designing and developing (new) technical solutions
  • Convincing external customers/inspectors of the feasibility and safety of the proposed solution
  • Determining the scope of engineering work for mainly small projects and/or less complex technical tenders
  • Supervising and assessing the work of colleagues, subcontractors, and customers
  • Responsible for progress reporting regarding small projects and/or less complex technical tenders
  • Assisting and advising in the execution of tenders and projects, sometimes on location
  • Participating in the continuous improvement of departmental processes and procedures

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
  • 5-10 years of relevant work experience at an infrastructure contractor
  • Experience with relevant working methods, techniques, and professional software and models
  • Good knowledge of CAD, QGIS, and Excel software required
  • Relevant experience with project management
  • Good command of English (written and spoken)
