Design, program, and optimize automated systems including PLC, HMI, servo motors, and variable frequency drives
Develop, maintain, and standardize control programs to ensure robustness and performance
Diagnose and resolve complex automation and equipment control issues, providing crucial second-level support
Optimize production lines to improve performance, quality, and operational reliability
Support the maintenance team, including electrotechnicians, in improving and enhancing the reliability of systems
Act as the site’s technical reference for automation
Plan, coordinate, and oversee automation and electrical projects, as well as lead specific project components within the role
Manage projects end-to-end, including needs assessment, timelines, budgets, and progress tracking
Contribute to the deployment of Operational Technology (OT) initiatives and industrial system integration
Collaborate smoothly with internal teams (production, maintenance, engineering) and external partners
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and applicable technical standards
Actively participate in continuous improvement of equipment and processes
Perform any other related duties as required by operational needs
Requirements
A Bachelor’s degree in Automated Production Engineering (GPA), Electrical Engineering, or a related field, with a minimum of 7 to 10 years of relevant experience
Alternatively, a College diploma (DEC) in Automation and Control, combined with 10 to 15 years of relevant experience, may be considered if you possess equivalent skills to a Bachelor’s degree
Significant hands-on experience in PLC/HMI programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or equivalent)
Proven experience with motion control systems, such as servo motors and variable frequency drives
Strong knowledge of electrical schematic design
Bilingualism (French and English) is essential, as the role involves interacting with employees and customers
Strong expertise in troubleshooting and technical problem-solving
An analytical mindset paired with excellent problem-solving skills
Autonomy and a strong sense of accountability
Excellent collaboration and communication skills
Technical leadership and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
A results-oriented approach with a focus on continuous improvement
Nice to have
Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is a strong asset
