You will be working in the Infrastructure OU, in our Energy sector based in Watford. Our Infrastructure team brings design, build and refurbishment excellence to complex civil engineering projects nationwide – combining technical expertise with a passion for creating lasting value for people and places. We are currently looking for a Project Director who will provide strategic leadership and direction for major energy sector programmes, ensuring safe, compliant, and commercially effective delivery across complex infrastructure and operational environments.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead and direct delivery of complex, high value energy sector programmes and portfolios
  • Set strategic direction across multiple projects, ensuring alignment with organisational and client objectives
  • Provide senior oversight of programme performance, including risk, cost, schedule, and quality
  • Establish and maintain robust governance frameworks, ensuring compliance with internal standards and external regulatory requirements
  • Develop and maintain solid senior stakeholder relationships, including clients, regulators, and internal leadership
  • Ensure effective integration across engineering, construction, commercial, and operational functions

Requirements

  • Extensive experience leading major programmes within the energy sector or comparable infrastructure environments
  • Track record of delivering complex, multi workstream projects at scale
  • Deep understanding of programme governance, risk management, and commercial controls
  • Experience working in regulated environments with strong focus on safety and compliance
  • Proven ability to influence and engage senior stakeholders, including clients and executive leadership
