We are looking for a dedicated Project Coordinator to support the development and management of geospatial data and mapping initiatives for city infrastructure and municipal services. This position involves collaboration with various departments, including Public Works, Planning, Transportation, and Utilities, to ensure data accuracy and contribute to the improvement of community services. This is a long-term contract opportunity based in Memphis, Tennessee.
Job Responsibility:
Maintain and update geospatial datasets, maps, and databases for municipal infrastructure and assets
Facilitate field data collection efforts using specialized equipment to ensure precision and reliability
Create detailed maps, dashboards, and reports to support planning, environmental, transportation, and utility projects
Document and map municipal systems such as traffic signals, pipelines, fiber networks, and water/wastewater systems
Develop and manage web maps and applications for use by internal teams and the general public
Partner with city staff and external organizations to support project initiatives and uphold data integrity
Utilize Python scripting or automation to streamline data processing and enhance workflows
Apply technical writing skills to create clear documentation and communication materials
Collaborate on projects requiring environmental, geological, or hydrological data analysis
Requirements:
Proficiency in ArcGIS software, including ArcGIS Pro, ArcMap, and ArcGIS Online
Strong expertise in geospatial data management, cartography, and spatial analysis
Experience with field data collection using PGPS or similar equipment
Ability to develop and maintain web maps or applications for diverse audiences
Familiarity with Python scripting for automation and data processing
Demonstrated experience in supporting municipal or utility-focused geospatial projects
Excellent communication skills to work effectively across departments and with external partners
Knowledge of environmental, geological, or hydrological data analysis methods
