Student Exploration and Experience Development (SEED) is a 12-week internship opportunity at Veolia for students to gain hands-on experience in sustainability and ecological transformation. They will work on real-world projects, receive mentorship from industry professionals, and participate in workshops and networking events. The Project Coordinator Intern primary role is to assist the project managers, resource managers and DB&T partners from CORP domain to plan, execute, and track projects according to our project management methodology. The Project Coordinator – Intern prepares PMO related reports such as workforce planning, portfolio reports, KPIs and metrics reports. The team member will be expected to create and update project plans, run scrums for small to medium size projects. We will also expect the person in this role to manage RAID logs and track critical items. Job Responsibility:
Direct and manage development of projects of increasing complexity and importance
Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders
Develop small-scale project plans and associated communications documents
Run scrum meetings for small to medium size scrums
Prepare minutes for project management related projects and deliverables
Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion
Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis
With the assistance of senior project managers, estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals
Assist senior project manager in tracking budget proposals and spending
Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team. Manage and track RAID items
Identify and manage project dependencies and critical paths
Track project milestones and deliverables. Escalate potential delivery no longer on track
Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations
Determine the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyze results, and troubleshoot problem areas
Proactively manage changes in projects under his/her purview. identify potential crises and devise contingency plans
Define and measure project success criteria
Perform lessons learned at the end of his/her project
Conduct project postmortems and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements
Produce workforce planning, portfolio level reports from information extracted from our PPM. Look at any automation capability
Prepare project documentation (PMO related) and work with other members of the team to make sure they have appropriate documentation completed
Work with technical and change management team to make sure specific training is being developed, coordinated and delivered
Work with service desk for his/her project for support transition
Coordinate user authority assignments with local user authority managers
Assist in the development and maintenance of standard procedures and best practices for system use
Assist senior project manager and DB&T partner in producing KPI’s related reporting
Attend internal training to increase project management knowledge
Requirements:
High School diploma or GED equivalent required
Junior or Senior pursuing a degree in MIS, Finance, Engineering, Business or related fields with a strong interest in project management
Some limited direct work experience is expected (summer jobs, other internships)
Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential
Some familiarity with project management skills (process, deliverables)
Ability to take a business problem and decompose in smaller more manageable tasks
Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Reacts to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently
Ability to read communication styles of team members and contractors who come from a broad spectrum of disciplines
Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, clients, and other departments
Strong familiarity with standard Microsoft Office software and operating systems (Windows NT/2000/XP)
