The Project Controls Specialist is responsible for supporting planning, scheduling, cost control, forecasting, and performance reporting for construction and engineering projects. This role ensures that projects are executed efficiently, within budget, and in accordance with contractual requirements by providing accurate data, analysis, and recommendations to project teams, field supervisors, and management.
Job Responsibility
Weekly updating cost on projects using our Project Health Report (PHR)
Weekly reporting of Labor hours on projects for our field supervisor and project manager
Update change order log on our projects using the project managers change order logs weekly
Researching variances that are caught through analysis on our project health report
Coordinating with accounting to close out purchase orders and subcontractor agreements
Cost tracking for project managers if it requested on a project
Weekly reminders to get percent complete from field supervision and project managers
Set up new projects in the Project Health Report format once project set up has been set up by accounting
Run the Monthly or Bi-Monthly Meeting with project manager to review the Project Health Report
Close out the Project Health Report when the project ends
Requirements
2 plus years in a project controls role for a construction or electrical contracting firm
Heavy knowledge of Excel. This should include Macros, If then Statements, Lookups, Designing Dashboards, and Reporting
Basic project management experience to be able to coordinate between the Project Managers and Field Supervision
Bachelor's degree in finance, business analysis, or construction management
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Nice to have
Experience with ERP software like Oracle 11i, or Viewpoint Spectrum
Basic accounting experience or procure to pay experience
