The Project Controls Specialist will engage in a variety of project controls assignments working under the general supervision of the Project Controls Manager. Generally, an individual contributor, the candidate will lead small to medium-sized projects involving cost, scheduling, quality assurance, permits and reporting activities that support in managing overall project goals such as ensuring the project stays within budget and are completed on time while conducting research and analyzing data to keep project on track in budget, forecasting financial needs, monitoring and reporting outcome data, tracking compliance, and ad hoc reporting.
Job Responsibility:
Work with project teams, finance, suppliers, and other stakeholders to gather necessary data and resolve discrepancies
Assist in developing and maintaining standardized procedures for project cost control, and data management
Utilize project management tools to manage and report data, ensuring alignment with project goals
Prepare regular reports on project costs, material status, risks, and performance metrics for management review
Schedule and manage project meetings to review progress and address challenges
Work with construction, engineers, and field teams to ensure alignment with project goals and obtain progress data
Serve as a point of contact for internal teams, contractors, and clients
Provide regular updates to stakeholders on project progress, milestones, and risks
Handle inquiries, requests, and feedback promptly and professionally
Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation
Prepare weekly and monthly reports on project status, including financial and performance metrics
Monitor project progress and identify potential delays or issues
Work collaboratively to resolve conflicts, mitigate risks, and implement solutions
Escalate critical issues to the project manager or leadership team as needed
Participates in the preparation of complex phases of the Project Milestone Schedule, Engineering, Construction and Master Project Schedule
Conducts and leads scheduled review meetings to discuss project status and to assist in developing alternatives to accommodate changes in priorities
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or related disciplines
A minimum of 4 years of related experience in scheduling principles
Experience with industry tools such as Primavera, MS Project, Excel, Word, Smart Sheets, etc.
Fundamental understanding of project and construction management processes
Problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure
