We are looking for a dedicated Project Controller to oversee financial operations and reporting for project-based activities. This role is based in Raleigh, North Carolina, and requires an experienced, detail-oriented individual who can ensure compliance with accounting standards while driving process improvements. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of project accounting practices.
Job Responsibility:
Collaborate with project managers and operational teams to review costs, revenue recognition, and adherence to accounting standards
Analyze financial data to create variance reports that assess project performance and profitability
Manage billing, collections, and contract-related financial matters for multiple projects
Supervise and mentor project accounting staff, providing training and conducting performance reviews
Establish and maintain internal controls to ensure accuracy and compliance in project accounting processes
Facilitate audits by preparing accurate financial documentation and ensuring regulatory compliance
Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency in project accounting operations
Utilize accounting and project management software to monitor project costs, invoicing, and financial reporting
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
In-depth understanding of project accounting principles, financial analysis, and reporting standards
Proficiency in accounting software and systems
Demonstrated leadership and organizational abilities
Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams
Prior experience in a project-based experience in the construction industry is a must
Knowledge of month-end close processes, general ledger management, and journal entries
Experience with account reconciliations and financial statement audits
