We are seeking a motivated and capable Project Controller to support the delivery of this major and technically complex project. The successful candidate will join the newly established Queensland Metals Surface Engineering team, which is responsible for an extensive portfolio of sustaining capital projects across two concentrators and two smelters.
Job Responsibility:
Serve as a core member of the project leadership team, contributing to strategy, planning and execution decisions
Act a trusted advisor to the project manager on schedule, cost, risk and performance trends
Develop and maintain schedules aligned to objectives, ensuring schedule logic sequencing and critical path integrity
Perform schedule range analysis and probabilistic assessments to understand uncertainties and confidence levels
Lead schedule risk analysis including development of contingencies
Develop time phased outputs from the schedule to support cost profiling and financial valuation
Establish and manage project budgets, cost control structures and forecasting processes
Perform cost range analysis and probabilistic assessments to understand uncertainties and confidence levels
Lead cost risk analysis including development of contingencies
Develop time phased cost profiles and cashflows aligned to the schedule to support financial valuation
Support change management and ensure impacts are accurately assessed and communicated
Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvement to optimise project delivery
Lead the development and maintenance of a risk register
Track mitigation actions and escalate critical risks as required
Prepare project performance reports analysing cost, schedule and risk trends
Collaborate with Project Managers, Finance and stakeholders to ensure accurate data and reporting
Maintain data integrity across SAP, Contruent, and Power BI systems
Ensure compliance with Governance frameworks and support audits and close-out activities
Requirements:
Demonstrated experience as a project control lead in a similar role on a major project (>100M in execution)
Relevant project control or similar project planning experience throughout all stages of project delivery
Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
Experienced in use of Microsoft suite especially Microsoft Project and Excel
