Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Project Controller to join our team in Akron, Ohio. In this role, you will oversee financial aspects of manufacturing projects, ensuring accuracy in cost analysis, forecasting, and revenue recognition. This is a long-term contract position, with potential to become full-time, offering the opportunity to work closely with project teams and contribute to the success of major initiatives.

Job Responsibility

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external clients to facilitate project success
  • Set up project structures and establish organizational frameworks
  • Conduct weekly reviews and analyses of project costs to ensure alignment with budgets
  • Manage customer billing processes, monitor payment statuses, and support cash collection efforts
  • Update vendor accruals and address accounts payable holds as needed
  • Ensure accurate revenue recognition in project financials, adhering to company policies
  • Create monthly revenue forecasts and cash flow projections to support financial planning
  • Collaborate with project teams to prepare quarterly forecasts and input data into forecasting systems
  • Track project performance metrics, including revenue, profit, billing, and cash receipts, while identifying variances
  • Develop and deliver periodic reports, including Project Status Reports and ad hoc analyses, to meet contract requirements

Requirements

  • Proven experience in budget management and financial processes within manufacturing or similar industries
  • Proficiency in analyzing cash flow and managing project accounting
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting
  • Strong communication abilities to explain financial variances and collaborate with project teams
  • Knowledge of revenue recognition principles and financial forecasting
  • Ability to work with multiple stakeholders and manage deadlines effectively
  • Familiarity with change management programs and risk registers
  • Willingness to attend site visits and participate in project close-out activities
