We are looking for creative, passionate, and driven project architects to work on mixed-use multi-family, adaptive reuse and higher education projects in our Chicago office. You will have the opportunity to work with a team of talented and collaborative professionals on all aspects of project design and development under the direct supervision of a Senior Architect and/or Principal. You will also closely collaborate with the project team, including consultants, to prepare design studies, graphic representations, technical drawings, studies, and other materials related to architectural design.
Job Responsibility:
Implement project design philosophy and work toward the successful execution of the project through design and construction phases
Lead team meetings and client presentations, working closely with multidisciplinary teams
Mentor and train junior staff in a constructive and thoughtful manner
Organize the work efforts of SCB’s project team on a day-to-day basis and function as the primary facilitator of communication between the in-house team and external consultants
Research and promote opportunities for new or innovative system applications
proactively look for and implement processes to improve work product and efficiency.
Requirements:
Accredited professional degree in architecture
5-15 years post-graduate, full-time working experience in an architectural firm
Capable of performing all construction phase activities including review of shop drawings, responding to Contractor questions (RFI’s), conducting site visits and participating in BIM coordination meetings
Working knowledge of, and demonstrated experience with, local zoning ordinances and building codes
Display technical knowledge of building systems, material assemblies, and engineering concepts
Ability to lead a project including consultants and internal staff
A strong design sensibility
Proficient in Revit, Bluebeam, Newforma and Excel
familiarity with software programs such as Enscape, SketchUp, Rhino, Affinity and Adobe Creative Suite
