Our expanding business is seeking an experienced Project Architect with a strong background working on Public Projects.

Lead projects of various sizes from conceptual design/scope development through construction administration
Inspire creativity, critical thought, and design excellence both internally and externally
Conceptualize a design from both a functional and aesthetic perspective in concert with a client’s requirements, budget, and program
Participate in the development of the program and other pre-design efforts
Develop a design through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, massing studies, and other visual formats to express the design intent and communicate to project team, client, and building user groups
Participate in design critiques and pin-ups
Present to and communicate with stakeholders
Implement sustainable design principles
Develop the design in accordance with code and zoning requirements, client objectives, and cost parameters
Evaluate and select building systems and materials
Coordinate building systems and subconsultants
Ensure the design intent is maintained through documentation and construction
Be a lead Architect on Building Condition Assessment Survey (BCAS) Projects as needed

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture
Minimum of 10 years of experience
New York State Licensed Architect required
LEED Green Associate or LEED AP preferred
Previous MTA, SCA, and NYCHA experience is required
Ability to engage in creative and critical thought
Able to lead project teams and drive design excellence with strong communication and relationship skills
Able to prioritize assignments and maintain schedules
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, able to Interpret sketches, drawings, codes, building program and other similar material
Strong demonstrated knowledge of building construction systems, constructability, detailing, materials, and industry associated standards
Experience in Contract Administration is an asset
Experience in Alternative Delivery projects is an asset
Proficient use of Revit and the use of it as a design and documentation tool is preferred

Experience with MTA Station Design, SCA Capacity projects, NYCHA Roofing as well as Building Condition Assessment Survey (BCAS), commercial and workplace design is a plus
Experience in Contract Administration is an asset
Experience in Alternative Delivery projects is an asset
Proficient use of Revit and the use of it as a design and documentation tool is preferred
