Job Responsibility:
Provide project team leadership to deliver complete, accurate construction drawings, specifications, and material selections
Coordinate and collaborate across disciplines including internal design team, consultants, contractors, clients and other agencies to meet overall project goals
Independently contribute to the design and delivery of all project phases including design, producing technical drawings and specifications, and participating in all aspects of construction administration
Facilitate integration of sustainable design strategies into design solutions
Provide thorough and timely communication of project information between clients and the project team
Manage projects using Bloom's Project Management system including developing work plans, and managing budgets, schedules, and fees
Contribute to business development strategy and activities, collaborating with the team in creating proposals, LOI's, and researching new opportunities
Maintain client relationships throughout projects, regularly keeping the client apprised of project progress. Initiate and maintains contact with other key project stakeholders to clarify, coordinate, and negotiate critical issues
Attend industry events, conferences, and local community gatherings to meet potential clients, collaborators, and influencers
Contribute to office initiatives, professional development efforts, and mentoring junior staff
Requirements:
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Architecture
Registered Architect in Illinois, NCARB preferred but not required
10+ years of relevant experience
3+ years of project management experience
Multidisciplinary experience in any or all of the following markets: Education, Commercial, Transit/transportation facilities, Municipal, Industrial
Proven success in developing new clients and maintaining strong client relationships
Good decision-making skills, flexibility, focus on quality and attention to detail
Strong knowledge of local and national building codes, standards, and regulations
Construction Administration experience including submittal reviews, RFI's, contractor coordination, knowledge of construction contracts, and experience with various construction types
Excellent communication, troubleshooting, and time management skills
Proficiency in Revit, Bluebeam, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, Sketch-Up, and other modeling and rendering software
Commitment to challenging yourself to constantly improve and keep learning
Strong work ethic and team player willing to accept a full range of responsibilities
Ability to work on multiple projects and assignments simultaneously
Nice to have:
NCARB
Experience with LEED, WELL, Fitwel, Living Building Challenge, or Net Zero projects
Experience with public project delivery process
Project Management training
Familiarity with sustainable and universal design principles
