Project Accountant

• Process bi-monthly subcontractor billings and material invoices with accuracy and attention to detail
• Manage and maintain organized records including purchase orders, subcontract files, meeting minutes, and other project-related documentation
• Support the client billing process and prepare quarterly accounting reports for the corporate office
• Collaborate with the lead project accountant to secure tax-related documentation and ensure compliance with tax exemption requirements
• Monitor project data and ensure adherence to established budgets and schedules
• Track and report key accounting indicators to provide financial insights
• Handle administrative tasks such as copying, filing, and distributing jobsite correspondence
• Utilize technical knowledge to manage financial information effectively for complex construction projects
• Maintain clear communication with team members and stakeholders, ensuring smooth workflow
• Contribute to the development of accurate and comprehensive financial records to support project goals

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction accounting or a related field
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, such as creating pivot tables and managing large datasets
• Familiarity with Tier I accounting software
• experience with Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne is preferred
• Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and advanced job costing
• Ability to organize technical data clearly and accurately
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to foster positive relationships
• Capability to perform effectively under pressure while maintaining a cooperative and detail-oriented attitude
