Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Project Accountant to join our team in Lafayette, Louisiana. This role involves managing financial aspects of projects, ensuring accuracy in reporting, and supporting overall financial operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and a proactive approach to solving financial challenges.

Job Responsibility:

Oversee month-end close processes to ensure accurate and timely completion
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure financial integrity
Prepare and post journal entries in compliance with accounting standards
Conduct account and bank reconciliations to verify accuracy of transactions
Monitor and manage project budgets, tracking costs and analyzing variances
Develop monthly forecasts to support project planning and financial decision-making
Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable processes efficiently
Generate monthly financial reports, ensuring all data is accurate and complete
Prepare detailed financial statements and reports to support decision-making
Collaborate with project teams to provide insights into financial performance and cost management

Requirements:

Minimum of 3 years of experience in project accounting required
Bachelor's degree in accounting required
Proficiency in month-end close processes and general ledger management
Strong knowledge of journal entries and account reconciliation
Familiarity with project budgeting, cost tracking, and variance analysis
Experience in accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes
Ability to prepare and analyze financial reports with accuracy
Advanced skills in financial forecasting and reporting
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
