Job Description

Our team is seeking a skilled Project Accountant to join our Full-Time Engagement Professionals practice. In this role, you will support clients on critical initiatives, special projects, and interim assignments while enjoying the stability of full-time employment with our company. Job Responsibility

  • Manage project accounting activities, including budgeting, forecasting, tracking costs, and variance analysis
  • Monitor project financial performance and provide reporting to leadership and stakeholders
  • Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close support related to project activity
  • Review project contracts, billing terms, and revenue recognition requirements
  • Track labor, materials, subcontractor costs, and other project-related expenses
  • Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and invoicing tied to projects
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and client-specific requirements
  • Partner with project managers and operational leaders to improve financial visibility and decision-making
  • Assist with system implementations, process improvements, and clean-up initiatives as needed
  • Support audits and special accounting projects

Requirements

  • 3+ years of accounting experience, including project accounting or construction/accounting project support
  • Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and cost tracking
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new environments, systems, and teams
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • CPA or progress toward certification is a plus

Nice to have

  • Experience in project-based environments such as construction, engineering, professional services, or consulting
  • Familiarity with revenue recognition and contract review
  • Exposure to ERP platforms such as Oracle, NetSuite, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar systems
