We are looking for a detail-oriented Project Accountant to join our team in Seattle, Washington. In this role, you will oversee financial activities related to projects, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting. Your expertise will be crucial in managing accounts, coordinating with stakeholders, and supporting operational managers with financial insights.
Job Responsibility:
Prepare and manage accounts receivable tasks, including the generation of draw requests, billings, and month-end collections
Process accounts payable activities such as invoicing, purchase orders, payment processing, and subcontractor invoice entries
Assist with subcontractor prequalification, ensuring insurance documentation is tracked and compliant
Support operations managers with profit and loss reporting and month-end financial reviews
Communicate payment processes and updates to subcontractors, clients, and suppliers
Review and approve insurance certificates from subcontractors, ensuring compliance with requirements
Analyze project data to identify and correct coding errors, time discrepancies, and expense inaccuracies
Facilitate timely payments to trades and subcontractors while maintaining clear communication with all parties
Monitor accounts receivable status and assist with collections when necessary
Maintain project records, including contracts, change orders, and financial documentation, ensuring accurate and up-to-date files
Requirements:
Proven experience in project accounting, preferably within construction-related projects
Proficiency in managing accounts receivable and accounts payable processes
Strong skills in handling invoice processing, purchase orders, and payment workflows
Familiarity with profit and loss reporting and month-end financial procedures
Ability to analyze financial data, identify discrepancies, and implement corrective measures
Excellent communication skills for liaising with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients
Knowledge of insurance compliance and documentation requirements
Organizational skills to manage project files and support audit preparation
