Job Description:

Interim project accountant to support the finance team as they deliver a digital and efficiency programme for a public sector organisation.

Job Responsibility:

Provide high-quality financial information and updates
Provide expert insight and challenge in relation to project accounting
Attend programme board meetings to present the financial position
Track benefits outlined in the business case
Contribute to wider budget planning for future projects
Deliver robust financial support to both operational and strategic initiatives

Requirements:

Qualified accountant or nearing qualification
Demonstrable experience in project accounting including monthly reporting, financial tracking and business case support
Broader finance business partnering experience
Advanced Excel skills to manage complex data
Strong communication skills
Ability to build relationships quickly
Empathy to navigate sensitive situations
