Project Accountant

• Establish and maintain project-specific financial records, including cost and revenue budgets
• Regularly review and audit job budgets, identifying discrepancies and communicating findings to project teams
• Assist project teams in preparing monthly forecasts for revenue and expenses
• Review and process change orders, ensuring accuracy before submission to relevant parties
• Participate in site meetings to address and track project-related issues
• Prepare and review payment applications in collaboration with project managers
• Monitor labor hour classifications and coding to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Reconcile cost accounts and make adjustments as needed to reflect accurate project costs
• Manage project closeout procedures, including final billing, cost reconciliations, and documentation tracking
• Ensure compliance with lien waivers, insurance requirements, and tax filings for projects

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience within the commercial construction industry
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the broader Microsoft Office suite
• Familiarity with project accounting principles and construction industry practices
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Experience with Trimble Viewpoint or similar software is preferred but not required
