We are looking for a skilled Project Accountant to join our team in Louisville, Kentucky. In this role, you will oversee financial activities related to various projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established standards. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate closely with project teams while maintaining a strong focus on financial management and reporting.
Job Responsibility:
Manage accounts payable for assigned projects, ensuring invoices are processed accurately and on time
Prepare and handle accounts receivable activities, including generating invoices, reconciling payments, and maintaining records
Review subcontractor billing packages to confirm compliance with contract terms and ensure all required documentation is provided
Conduct detailed contract reviews for new and ongoing projects to verify financial terms, assign cost codes, and align budgets
Work closely with project managers to track job costs, analyze budget variances, and provide financial insights
Process subcontractor change orders, ensuring timely documentation and alignment with project budgets
Assist with financial reporting, process improvements, and special accounting projects as directed by leadership
Support the accounting and project management teams with any additional tasks as needed
Requirements:
Minimum of three years of accounting experience, preferably in a project-based or job-cost environment
Prior experience in construction or detail-oriented services industries is highly desirable
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and communicate clearly with stakeholders
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all financial processes
Proficiency in accounting software such as Viewpoint or Trimble Construction One is preferred
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook
Nice to have:
Familiarity with AIA billing and payment application forms (G702/G703) is a plus
Experience with industry-specific billing and payment platforms is advantageous
