Robert Half is currently recruiting for an established and reputable construction company in Naples, FL is seeking an experienced Project Accountant to join our growing team. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, seamless project accounting, and strong collaboration with project management teams. We are looking for a detail‑oriented, organized accounting professional with construction industry experience and strong job‑costing knowledge.
Job Responsibility:
Process full‑cycle accounts payable, including invoice entry, coding, and routing for approval
Handle full‑cycle accounts receivable, including generating invoices and posting cash receipts
Manage full‑cycle job costing, from new project setup through job close‑out
Review, verify, and enter subcontractor AIA pay applications
Prepare and submit AIA billings to project owners
Track and record Notices to Owner and ensure compliance with project requirements
Process subcontractor and owner contracts, including amendments and change orders
Process subcontractor payments and prepare/releases of lien
Track and update Certificates of Insurance for subcontractors
Assist with Workers’ Compensation and General Liability audits
Support month‑end and year‑end close, including balance sheet account reconciliations, Work‑in‑Progress (WIP) schedules, Percentage‑of‑completion reporting
Prepare loan draw requests for developer entities and submit to lenders
Work closely with Project Managers, superintendents, and internal staff to ensure accurate, timely project accounting
Assist real estate agents with purchase contracts for prospective buyers of developer entities
Maintain Community Management Systems (CMS) software
Prepare contract addendums, coordinate buyer signatures, and process related payments
Track, process, and reconcile escrow deposits
Requirements:
3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in construction, real estate development, or related industries
Strong understanding of job costing, AIA billing, and construction draw processes
Proficiency with accounting software
experience with CMS or construction management systems is a plus
Solid knowledge of lien releases, COIs, and construction billing workflows
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with operational teams
Nice to have:
Experience with CMS or construction management systems is a plus
