Job Description:

This role is a maternity cover until September 2026. We’re also open to reduced hours (30 hours per week), with daily coverage required. At tmp, Programme Management Directors play a critical role in enabling great delivery across a portfolio, particularly within account management. This is a key, hands-on role, but it is not a functional leadership position. You’ll work closely with a Managing Partner, senior client leaders, and central operations teams rather than operating in isolation. This role is best suited to someone who has grown from a Senior Project Manager or Programme Director background and is ready to operate at a portfolio level – coaching teams, embedding best practice, and helping client work run smoothly, commercially and operationally. As a Programme Management Director, you’ll inspire confidence, promote delivery best practice, and help raise the standard of client service across your portfolio. You’ll act as a delivery enabler and coach, supporting teams to plan, manage and deliver work effectively while aligning to tmp’s values and global KPIs. You’ll balance strategic thinking with pragmatism, helping teams deliver high-quality work that meets client expectations and commercial goals. You’ll partner with the Portfolio senior leadership on delivery, resourcing and commercial considerations, supported by established processes and central teams.

Job Responsibility:

  • Act as a best-practice advisor on delivery methodologies, supporting how work is scoped, planned and delivered across the portfolio
  • Work with Managing Partners, Account Directors and function leads to shape delivery approaches that are scalable and aligned to client needs
  • Support the planning and execution of centrally led delivery improvements within your portfolio
  • Support prioritisation discussions where required
  • Support recruitment and onboarding of Client Services delivery roles within the portfolio
  • Coach and mentor delivery and account management colleagues to strengthen leadership, commercial awareness and delivery confidence
  • Champion the delivery craft by supporting capability building, career development and consistent ways of working
  • Provide clear, constructive feedback to drive quality and continuous improvement
  • Review high-level data on revenue recovery versus approved quotes, surfacing risks and supporting teams to put mitigation plans in place
  • Work with project managers and account leaders to scope work effectively, manage margins and identify commercial risks early
  • Support consistent commercial best practice across the portfolio
  • Work with workflow and account leadership to support utilisation planning and visibility of capacity
  • Support delivery planning and operational routines across the portfolio, ensuring consistency across clients and project types
  • Partner with workflow, resourcing and function leads to help align capacity with forecasted demand and team wellbeing
  • Act as a portfolio superuser for delivery tools and systems, supporting adoption and best practice
  • Contribute to internal communications and reporting on delivery health and operational performance
  • Support teams with research or identifying partners where needed
  • Contribute to pitches and RFPs by providing input on delivery approach, resourcing and feasibility
  • Support onboarding of new business to help teams mobilise work smoothly and at pace

Requirements:

  • Experience in a marketing agency environment (around 5–10 years, with B2B experience)
  • Strong account and programme management experience, with confidence applying delivery best practice
  • Hands-on experience using project management tools and supporting teams to work effectively
  • Credibility in working with senior clients and internal stakeholders
  • Good commercial awareness and experience supporting larger, complex programs
  • Confidence using core tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Passionate about delivery excellence and creating strong client experiences
  • Bring calm, clarity and pragmatism to complex work
  • Confident working with senior clients and colleagues, comfortable asking tough questions
  • Motivated by improving how things get done
  • Bring energy, a solutions-first mindset, and a human approach to collaboration
What we offer:
  • Generous holiday allowance (Plentiful PTO)
  • Shutdown between Christmas and New Year
  • Private healthcare and dental insurance
  • Group income protection
  • Salary sacrifice pension scheme
  • Access to well-being coaching or counselling sessions once a week
  • Financial health support
  • Parental leave - 12 Weeks Full Pay for Primary Carers and an additional 50% pay for 12 more weeks
  • Social committee events
  • Use our portal to access discounts and cashback at plenty of retailers
  • cycle-to-work scheme
  • Sustainable Future Giving
