BAE is looking for a Program Quality Engineering Intern to implement continuous improvement tools and processes to help the team meet quality, cost, and on-time delivery targets. You must be a self-starting problem solver who will utilize your analytical skills to find innovative solutions to quality-related issues. Strong communication skills are essential to understand requirements and expectations, make progress reports and present findings. In this position, you will participate in BAE Systems' nationwide LEAP Internship & Co-op Program, where you will Learn, Engage, Apply, and Progress within the company. The LEAP Program will provide you with the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals on impactful projects, engage in career development opportunities, and network with our business leaders and the other students in the program.
Job Responsibility:
Support nonconformance investigations, identifying root causes & developing corrective actions
Assist in ensuring delivery of compliant products on time to the customer
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute independently to assigned projects
Analyze and trend quality data to identify performance patterns and improvement opportunities
Assist in developing and maintaining process maps, flowcharts, and documentation to support quality initiatives
Requirements:
Pursuing a degree in a technical discipline, with an expected graduation year of 2027 or 2028, including (but not limited to): Industrial or Systems Engineering
Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering
Mathematics or Physics
Computer Science
Information Systems
Engineering Management
Quality Management
Nice to have:
Self-starting problem solver
Outstanding communication skills
Experience in the defense electronics industry
Familiarity with Lean and Six Sigma practices
Relevant Quality Certifications (e.g., Green Belt)
