Job Description:

BAE is seeking a highly skilled and motivated program manager to lead an oversee a critical defense contract initiative. In this role, you will manage project execution, coordinate cross functional teams, and ensure successful delivery of a complex defense program that support national security objectives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in defense program management, excellent leadership abilities, and a proven track record of driving projects to completion on time and within budget.

Job Responsibility:

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive program plans, schedules and budgets
  • Lead-cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with program goals and fixed price contract requirements
  • Monitors program performance, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies
  • Communicate program status, issues, and risks to stakeholders, including senior leadership and government customers
  • Ensure compliance with contract requirements, regulatory standards, and company polices
  • Facilitate effective collaboration between internal teams, subcontractors and external partners
  • Manage resource allocation and optimize utilization to meet program goals
  • Support proposal development and contract negotiations as needed
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance program efficiency and quality

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, Physics, Computer Science or related fields
  • 12 years of program management experience, preferably in the defense or aerospace industry
  • Proven experience managing complex fixed price design, development, and production contracts
  • Proven experience managing large, complex defense contracts and multi-disciplinary teams
  • Strong knowledge of defense acquisition processes and government contracting regulations
  • Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) processes and tools is required to effectively monitor and control program performance
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with project management tools and software to include MS Project with the ability to maintain and update master schedules
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines
  • Must ability to obtain a secret clearance

Nice to have:

  • Master’s degree or higher in Engineering, Systems Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or related fields
  • 10 years of program management experience in defense or aerospace, or related high-technology industries
  • Experience managing programs involving radar, missile defense, or similar advances defense technologies
  • Familiarity with Department of Defense (DoD) acquisition lifecycle, and Defense compliance standards
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent
  • Experience with Agile or other iterative development methodologies
