The Program Manager will work full-time closely with the Labor Center’s Executive Director, Faculty Director, and labor and community partners to plan, implement, and evaluate Labor Center programming for students and community members. The Program Manager will be responsible for existing programming – including, the Labor Summer Fellowship – and developing new programs to build and strengthen the school to movement program through education, community building, and holistic development that serves diverse communities. Additionally the Program Manager will assist in developing and managing the internal and external communications infrastructure and strategy for the Labor Center.
Job Responsibility:
Work closely with the Labor Center’s Executive Director, Faculty Director, and labor and community partners to plan, implement, and evaluate Labor Center programming for students and community members
Responsible for existing programming – including, the Labor Summer Fellowship – and developing new programs to build and strengthen the school to movement program through education, community building, and holistic development that serves diverse communities
Assist in developing and managing the internal and external communications infrastructure and strategy for the Labor Center
Use advanced technical expertise and program management concepts to analyze and develop state-wide training deliverables and evaluate progress towards goals and objectives
Work on highly complex program training issues, where analysis of situations requires an in-depth evaluation and understanding of program strategies and objectives
Exercise judgment in selecting methods and techniques for program development, data analysis, and progress
Serve as 'lead' and subject matter expert
Occasional overtime including evenings and weekends may be required
Requirements:
Demonstrated experience working with labor, racial, indigenous, and economic justice organizations
Experience and in-depth knowledge of current community educational programs and trends
Experience coordinating education and events in social justice and community settings
Experience and knowledge of managing a portfolio of business and management courses at the university level
Demonstrated knowledge of administrative, financial, and other program operations are compliant with funders, university policies, and other regulatory requirements
Demonstrated experience to identify deliverables that require time-sensitive submission and creates tracking sheets to monitor progress and completion
Advanced experience providing programmatic support in the areas of outreach, liaisoning, recruitment, curriculum development, and program activities
Advanced knowledge of labor organizations as well as racial, gender, and economic justice organizations and campaigns in California, the Southwest, and other regions
Advanced knowledge of and good working relations with Black, Brown, and Tribal organizations
In-depth analytical skills to conduct analysis and develop recommendations, demonstrating organization and problem-solving skills
Bachelor’s degree and minimum five years work experience
Demonstrated ability to design and implement projects successfully as part of a team
Demonstrated ability to effectively train others
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with high-level leaders and executives in professional settings
Advanced knowledge of scientific area and understanding of how work may impact other areas
Advanced verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills and presentation skills
Advanced knowledge of organizational and governmental policies, procedures and regulations
Advanced knowledge of and skill in delivering programs
Advanced skills to conduct needs assessment and development of new presentations / courses to meet organizational needs
Skill in using business software systems in the completion of work assignments

Advanced organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously to meet objectives within prescribed timelines, budgets and other resources
Advanced ability to network with affiliated organizations outside of the university to advance program effectiveness
