Job Description:

We are seeking a Program Manager to provide high-level oversight for key projects and activities across the Environment and Heritage function. You will be responsible for ensuring that all activities are clearly defined, meticulously planned, and diligently tracked, with a strong focus on budget development and cost control. Your leadership will be pivotal in delivering infrastructure and technical outputs on time and within budget, ensuring all business objectives are met.

Job Responsibility:

  • Develop and maintain an integrated scheduling and project control framework to improve accuracy, efficiency and on-time delivery
  • Develop and maintain a cost control framework
  • Facilitate the annual budget development process for the business unit
  • Facilitate the broader strategic planning cycle for the business unit
  • Establish project baselines and schedule control measures enabling delivery of critical milestones
  • Support project approvals and progress reporting
  • Develop and maintain KPI reports and dashboards visualising schedule, cost and performance metrics

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, engineering, project management or similar discipline – preferred but not essential
  • Formal qualification in project management such as PMP (PMIBoK) or PRINCE2 Practitioner
  • Training and extensive practical experience in using Primavera P6 enterprise project management software – or equivalent solutions
  • Extensive experience in project controls for the delivery of large-scale mining, energy or infrastructure projects
  • Proven ability to lead integrated scheduling and project control frameworks
  • Experience in working with, and presenting to, senior business stakeholders – including to executive level
  • Experience in working with subject matter experts – in various disciplines, ideally including heritage, approvals, tenure, engineering and hydrogeology – to develop accurate task breakdown structures and estimated task durations
  • Ability to communicate confidently, both in written and oral form, with strong cross-cultural communication skills, and ability to influence key internal and external stakeholders

  • Provide internal stakeholders with strategic cultural heritage management advice to support MinRes’ reputation and legal compliance, while meeting project development / operational requirements
  • Prepare and deliver educational programs and heritage management procedures to support MinRes’ heritage compliance, permitting and cultural heritage protection. This may include procedures, inductions, pre-starts and leadership consultation
  • Establish respectful and positive relationships with Traditional Owners and other stakeholders, and support informal and formal heritage consultation mechanisms
  • Manage internal and external stakeholder engagement, logistics and participation in heritage field activities, such as surveys, research and compliance activities
  • Represent MinRes at, and contribute to, external cultural heritage related consultation and meetings as required
  • Manage heritage field resources, equipment, and asset acquisition and allocation. This includes assisting with budgeting and expenditure tracking
  • Develop and implement site based Cultural Heritage Management Plans, and coordinate team field-activities to ensure MinRes meets management conditions and other initiatives
  • Oversee the heritage team’s field-based planning, reporting, administration and logistics, to ensure consistency with internal systems, regulatory and agreement requirements, and MinRes project development schedules
  • Oversee heritage incident management processes, systems and reporting, including escalating and reporting where required
