Job Description

The Program Manager will lead Amgen’s AI/ML Innovation Lab at the Hyderabad Innovation Center, overseeing end-to-end delivery, stakeholder engagement, and execution across multiple teams developing AI/ML and GenAI solutions for R&D, Manufacturing, IT, and Commercial functions. The role includes close collaboration with global AI/ML leadership and partners to ensure compliance, quality, and innovation.

Job Responsibility

  • Drive overall program planning, execution, and delivery governance for the AI/ML Innovation Lab
  • Partner with domain SMEs and business stakeholders to define PoC, Pilot, and MVP roadmaps
  • Establish and manage cross-functional agile teams, ensuring timely and high-quality outcomes
  • Define KPIs and success metrics for innovation outcomes and report to Amgen leadership
  • Oversee resource allocation, risk management, and vendor coordination
  • Ensure all activities adhere to Amgen’s regulatory, data privacy, and compliance frameworks
  • Maintain documentation, dashboards, and communication across all PoDs and functional leads
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, transparency, and continuous innovation

Requirements

  • 12–18 years of experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder programs
  • Proven record in AI/ML, Data Science, or Digital Transformation delivery
  • Strong experience with Agile delivery, program governance, and metrics reporting
  • Background in pharmaceutical, biotech, or regulated industry preferred
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills
  • Hands-on familiarity with cloud (AWS) and data engineering/ML ecosystems desirable

Nice to have

  • Experience managing hybrid onshore-offshore delivery teams
  • Exposure to GenAI projects, model governance, and MLOps
  • PMP / SAFe / Agile Program Management certification a plus
  • Ability to influence senior business and technical stakeholders
  • Product Management or consulting experience is a bonus experience
