Job Description

United Way of Massachusetts Bay is committed to seeding and expanding Community Schools in its region and statewide. By partnering with families, students, communities, and partners, a Community Schools strategy leverages all collaborators in students' success. United Way provides capacity to do this work by supporting a Community School strategy in coordinating implementation, professional development, fundraising, evaluation, sustainability, and policy development. United Way seeks an experienced Program Manager to coordinate the day-to-day activities of executing our Community Schools Strategy. The ideal candidate has experience in project coordination, managing multiple projects, and extraordinary attention to detail.

Job Responsibility

  • Oversee daily operations, coordinate the activities of United Ways' Community Schools strategy, support priority setting
  • Organize and coordinate timelines and team tasks
  • Support internal alignment within UW
  • Lead special projects within the Community Schools strategy
  • Develop and implement systems for project management within the Community Schools strategy
  • Manage communications and documentation for the strategy and high-level bodies of work
  • Manage data and inform the development of a data system for the strategy
  • Prepare or assist in the preparation of grant requests, program reports, and funding continuation from outside sponsors
  • Manage grants, contracts, and MOUs
  • Review and understand United Way's Community program history and design and its alignment with UWMB EEOST systems change goals
  • Schedule meetings and coordinate calendars
  • Represent the organization warmly and professionally
  • Communicate effectively via email, phone, and zoom with partners
  • Other assignments and project/initiative involvement based on needs of the programs and interest of candidate

Requirements

  • 2+ year(s) experience working in a public school, educational, or youth-supporting setting
  • Experience in virtual and/or in-person facilitation
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to take initiative, meet deadlines independently, and manage multiple projects
  • Ability to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions
  • Ability to communicate and present ideas with clarity
  • Experience or interest in program evaluation and data collection systems
  • Utilizes a lens of equity, diversity, inclusion, and promotion of multi-cultural awareness in the development of strategies and visioning
  • Commitment to the mission of United Way
  • Access to a car and/or public transportation
  • Ability to work a hybrid work schedule with a minimum of 2 days per week in the Boston office
