New York Repair is seeking a dynamic Program Director to support the planning and facilitation of meaningful Jewish service learning programs for families, teens, and young adults. The Program Director will plan and implement a robust calendar of programming, including large-scale stakeholder events, support and facilitate Repair’s Service Corps, drive the annual MLK Day of Service and engage our Jewish community in one-off service and learning events in partnership with Jewish communal and service partner organizations. The Program Director will also supervise New York Repair’s two Senior Program Associates, and be responsible for the oversight and management of Repair’s Workshop space in Crown Heights.
Job Responsibility
Develop local program strategy, build and execute calendar of service opportunities which includes oversight of Service Corps and Service Ambassador program
Regularly facilitate service projects including hands-on service, issue area education, meaningful Jewish learning and reflection
Oversight of recruitment for all programs
Leads annual MLK Day of Service programming and logistics
Builds and sustains relationships with local Jewish organizations and nonprofit service partners
Identifies and cultivates new partners for Service Corps placements and program collaboration
Collaborates with the Managing Director to support local fundraising efforts, including funder and stakeholder engagement
Contributes to working toward locally-designed funding targets
Supervise two Senior Program Associates
Coordinate with the team on program goals, share updates, troubleshoot challenges, provide feedback and foster collaboration
Manage all workshop space usage including rentals, systems and operations, materials ordering and package receipt, relationship with a tenant, and coordination with the landlord
Oversee monthly utility payments and related operational expenses
Manage inventory for all kit packing projects
Support transportation and movement of materials from workshop to service locations
Finalize rental agreements and work with data team to process inquiries
Coordinate and collaborate with Repair the World’s staff across the country
Support marketing and communications efforts through content collection for community newsletters and social media
Complete office and administrative responsibilities
Attend external events in support of partners and community
Input timely and accurate data in Salesforce upon completion of programs
Requirements
5-7+ years of Experience: including a track record of experience with strategic planning, program design and project management
Experience facilitating Jewish learning and/or service experiences for youth, families, or adults
Experience with stakeholder engagement and relationship building
Ability to plan and execute community programs from concept to implementation
Comfort using standard technology tools (Email, G-Suite, etc.) and learning new systems (Salesforce, Monday, Slack, etc.)
Strong communication, organization and self-management skills
Flexible Schedule: Availability to facilitate evening and weekend programs based on the needs of partners’ and participants’ varying schedules
