Job Description

SciTec, a wholly owned subsidiary of Firefly Aerospace, is a dynamic non-traditional defense contractor that delivers advanced technologies in support of U.S. National Security and Defense. For the past forty-five plus years, we have supported Department of Defense customers by developing innovative remote sensing algorithms, tools, and techniques to deliver world-class data exploitation capabilities supporting missile defense; intelligence, surveillance, & reconnaissance; space domain awareness; and aircraft survivability missions. SciTec has an immediate opportunity for a talented business development professional with technical product background to serve as a Program Development Manager (PDM) and work to develop business and program in line with our strategic growth initiatives. This on-site (in-office) position is based in our Boulder, Colorado office. The PDM reports to the Executive Director of Program Development and is responsible for identifying, tracking, developing, and capturing new business opportunities within assigned Strategic Campaigns. The PDM leads or actively contributes to proposals. The PDM must be able to perform as an individual contributor and lead or serve on teams within a tight schedule environment.

Job Responsibility

  • Identify, capture, and maintain program opportunity pipelines and roadmaps within assigned Strategic Campaigns as part of overall corporate strategy
  • Lead assigned opportunities through a gated milestone process, leading to a proposal development effort or a no-bid decision
  • Lead assigned proposal efforts as the Proposal Manager and manage development of proposal content (technical solution, win themes, features/benefits, proof points, graphics, etc.) with the technical team (company and teammates) and proposal compliance content with internal Business Operations organizations (Contracts, Finance, IT, Security, etc.)
  • Develop and track to a proposal schedule, establish and manage the proposal budget baseline, and support other proposal efforts to ensure timely delivery of all required proposal content
  • Develop teaming strategies, teaming agreements, and subcontract RFPs
  • Develop marketing materials and articulate SciTec’s capabilities and solutions to customers and industry partners
  • Brief corporate and portfolio leadership on the status and progress of new business pipeline and initiatives
  • Support pre-award activities including addressing customer questions, BAFO, and teammate engagement
  • Support just-awarded program standup activities to include kickoff meetings, staff hiring, team orientation and collaborative IT environments
  • Periodic business travel may be necessary to meet with customers and industry teammates and to represent SciTec at tradeshows and conferences

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, mathematics, or computer science
  • U.S. Government or aerospace industry experience in technical program management roles of 12+ years
  • Industry experience of 10+ years participating in the development of capture plans and technical proposals in support of Department of Defense or Intelligence Community
  • Experience in leading business capture and proposal development efforts, including proposal development process and conducting meetings/reviews. Should include experience leading and winning individual technical proposal efforts in excess of $10M
  • Possess strong writing skills to articulate and refine our technical and managerial solutions that align with customers’ needs
  • Ability to interact and develop positive relationships with customers, teammates, and company senior leadership
  • Possess strong team building, time-management, and conflict-resolution abilities
  • Active DoD SECRET clearance or higher

Nice to have

  • Demonstrated experience working with the U.S. Space Force (USSF), Missile Defense Agency (MDA), U.S. Air Force (USAF), Space Development Agency (SDA), COCOMs, or the Intelligence Community
  • Demonstrated domain expertise in technologies, applications, and operations in one or more of the following mission areas: national security space systems, battle management command and control (BMC2), integrated air and missile defense, or ISR
  • Demonstrated experience leading technical teams to develop new capabilities and solutions for US Government customers
  • Demonstrated track record of business development success with US Government customers in national security space arena
