Reporting to the Director, the Program and Operations Specialist for the Center for Student Accountability, Growth, and Education (SAGE) coordinates and supports key aspects of departmental programs. Serves as a resource to students, faculty, and staff regarding the University of California San Diego non-academic student conduct process. Provides consultation and guidance to students and student leaders, supports the resolution of non-complex conduct cases, and assists with the intake and review of reports related to alleged violations of the University’s Standards of Conduct. Supports case management processes and contributes to outreach, education, and training efforts. Coordinates efforts with a variety of internal and external contacts, including campus partners and community stakeholders. Reviews organizational structures, policies, procedures, and industry best practices to support departmental operations and program development. Supports departmental processes and initiatives through follow-up, tracking, and implementation activities. Coordinates implementation efforts with cross-organizational departments or external entities as needed. Assists with department-related projects and supports special initiatives as needed based on departmental priorities. Works independently to provide information and interpretation of clearly defined policies, procedures and regulations.

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
Basic knowledge of advising and counseling techniques
Demonstrated understanding of the developmental and educational context in which the student conduct process is administered and managed
Strong understanding of the mission of a student conduct program on a university/ college campus
Knowledge of common University-specific computer application programs
Proficient skill utilizing student conduct databases, student information systems, and Microsoft Office applications systems
Knowledge of University processes and procedures
Understanding of University rules and regulations
Superb interpersonal skills to successfully interact with a variety of people and offices, at all levels of the university community
Skills in service orientation, active listening, critical thinking
Ability to maintain composure, diffuse client anger and anxiety with tact and diplomacy, and be able to follow up consistently on all assignments and pending matters
