We are seeking an outstanding and collaborative individual to join our team as Professor of Audiology. This senior academic role offers an exceptional opportunity to provide leadership in research, teaching and mentoring within the Manchester Centre for Audiology and Deafness (ManCAD), part of the Division of Psychology, Communication and Human Neuroscience in the School of Health Sciences. This is a full-time, permanent Professorial appointment (Grade 9) based at the University's Oxford Road campus. The post is central to the University's strategic ambitions in audiology, hearing science and hearing health, and you will work closely with the ManCAD leadership team to shape the future direction of research and education in this field.
Job Responsibility
Leading and delivering a high-quality, externally funded research programme in audiology or a closely related discipline
Providing strategic research leadership within ManCAD, including co-leadership of the Hearing Health theme of the NIHR Manchester Biomedical Research Centre
Producing and disseminating research outputs of national and international standing
Delivering and overseeing high-quality teaching and supervision at undergraduate, postgraduate taught and postgraduate research levels
Providing academic leadership, mentoring and career development for early- and mid-career researchers and colleagues
Requirements
A PhD in Psychology or a closely related discipline
An internationally recognised research profile in audiology or human hearing, with a strong publication record
Proven success in securing and leading external research funding
Evidence of academic leadership, mentoring and successful supervision of doctoral researchers
A strong commitment to excellence in teaching, learning and student experience
Nice to have
Evidence of innovative and high-quality teaching across a range of formats, including online delivery
Experience developing partnerships with external stakeholders, including clinical, policy or industry partners
A track record of research impact on policy, practice or public engagement
