Job Responsibility:
Drive innovation and excellence in midwifery education and research
Build strong partnerships with healthcare stakeholders across Tasmania and Australia
Guide the Postgraduate Diploma of Midwifery and lead the re-introduction of this Diploma
Requirements:
A PhD in Midwifery or an equivalent field
A strong clinical background with a track record in industry engagement and professional experience relevant as a midwife
Demonstrated capacity to influence policy and or work closely with key stakeholder groups
Extensive experience and demonstrated achievement in university-level teaching and learning
A substantial record in, and continuing commitment to, research that has achieved international/national recognition and made innovative and sustained contributions to the field of Midwifery
Proven ability as an academic leader, with a record in team building and creating effective working relationships, and capacity to foster excellence in research and teaching
A demonstrated capacity to build and maintain effective and productive links locally, nationally and internationally
Significant experience in the accreditation of Midwifery pre-registration degree with the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
Registration as a Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA)
A PhD in midwifery or relevant health field
Current Working with Vulnerable People registration (or to be obtained)
Current ‘C’ class driver’s licence or manual vehicle licence
