The ideal candidate will bring subject-matter expertise in one or more of the following areas: Vibration and Dynamic Systems, Control Engineering, Renewable Energy Systems, Hydrogen Technology Design, or Advanced/Smart Manufacturing technologies.

Job Responsibility:

  • Deliver engaging undergraduate and/or postgraduate courses and contribute to university programs
  • Provide mentorship on project endeavors and clarify assignment criteria
  • Craft and administer assessments that harmonize with learning objectives
  • Offer personalized feedback during consultations to enrich their educational journey
  • Undertake scholarly research, publish findings, and present at prestigious conferences, alongside fulfilling departmental and university commitments

Requirements:

  • A relevant PhD from a recognized institution
  • Registration with a professional body such as Board of Engineers Malaysia is required
  • Professional qualification (PEng, IPEA/APEC Engineer) or those progressing towards the qualification are desirable
  • Having knowledge in Vibration, Dynamic Systems and Control, Renewable Energy System Management, Hydrogen Technology Systems Design, and Advanced or Smart Manufacturing
  • Having experience in establishing and developing significant partnerships between academia and industry is an advantage
  • Proven track record of substantial high-quality research output with significant impact and leadership in research

  • Teach a variety of mechanical engineering courses at the undergraduate level including Control Systems, Advanced Control Systems, Robotics and Mechatronics, as well as additional courses in the mechanical engineering curriculum as departmental needs arise
  • Develop and implement innovative teaching methods that integrate faith and learning, including project-based learning, laboratory experiences, and the use of appropriate educational technology
  • Mentor and advise students on academic and career goals, including their spiritual and professional formation as Christian engineers
  • Collaborate with industry partners to enhance the practical learning experience for students and to help maintain an industry-informed curriculum
  • Contribute to departmental and university service activities such as ABET accreditation, curriculum and program development, and student recruitment
  • Remain current in their field by participating in scholarly activities and being active in professional organizations
  • Engage in collaboration with faculty in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and other STEM disciplines to support interdisciplinary learning and projects
