Job Responsibility:
Manage all aspects of payroll tax compliance, including reporting, reconciliation, and ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local regulations
Conduct research and analysis on changing tax legislation, implementing updates to payroll systems and procedures accordingly
Oversee the calculation and processing of retroactive tax adjustments, including filing amendments such as W-2c forms
Identify opportunities for process improvements and leverage technology to enhance payroll tax efficiency and data management
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate payroll processing and compliance
Ensure timely and accurate submission of all required tax filings, meeting statutory deadlines
Reconcile payroll general ledger accounts and tax liability accounts on a regular basis
Prepare comprehensive documentation to support internal, external, and government audits
Resolve agency tax notices and penalties efficiently and effectively
Verify and distribute year-end tax forms, such as W-2s, in a timely manner
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
alternatively, an Associate degree with at least five years of payroll tax experience
Expertise in payroll tax compliance, reporting, and reconciliation, including multi-state and international jurisdictions
Proficiency in Workday and Smart Compliance systems
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle complex tax issues
Experience with auditing and resolving tax-related matters, including W-2s and amendments
Ability to stay current with changing tax regulations and implement necessary updates
Excellent organizational skills with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail
Effective communication and collaboration abilities to work with cross-functional teams
