Job Responsibility

  • Develop structure and system installation conceptual layouts for the complete Airframe on new and existing aircraft programs
  • Closely interface with stress, systems, interiors, and support functions such as thermodynamics, mass properties, etc.
  • Generate preliminary design studies and layouts using 3D modeling
  • Provide technical solutions to resolve design or manufacturing issues
  • Generate and execute weight savings ideas
  • Supply input to impact analysis (technical, cost, schedule)
  • Support directly other engineering and operations departments
  • Support design and program reviews with partner/suppliers
  • Provide status for project and functional management
  • Manage design changes through all the cycles of the change management process

Requirements

  • Technologist or bachelor’s degree in mechanical/aerospace engineering or aerospace technical field
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in aerospace or related industry
  • Strong knowledge of aircraft structures and/or systems installation: configuration, preliminary sizing, design for manufacturing, detail design (sheet metal, machined parts, piping, component assembly, GD&T), material and processes, certification requirements, weight control and industry design standards
  • Strong familiarity in aerospace manufacturing processes and capabilities
  • Knowledge of CATIA V5, Enovia and MS Office is required
  • Must be fluent in English

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with Aircraft systems overall operation and function
  • Familiarity with in-service operation and aircraft maintenance
  • Familiarity with Aircraft Interiors
  • Knowledge of NX and Teamcenter
  • Knowledge of French
