As a Professional Senior within the Product Integration (Research & Technology Aircraft System Architecture) team, you will lead the definition and optimization of aircraft-level architecture for Electrical Power Distribution. Your role will focus on enabling next-generation operational capabilities through innovative system design and integration. You will drive the development of advanced architectures that incorporate emerging technologies to support future Bombardier products, including manned aircraft and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). You will spearhead Research & Technology initiatives to evaluate and integrate emerging technologies, enhance architecture exploration capabilities, and pilot advanced solutions that shape the future of Bombardier products. Your leadership will directly influence how future aircraft architectures are conceived, analyzed, and matured from early trade studies through program launch.
Job Responsibility:
Define and optimize aircraft-level architecture for Electrical Power Distribution
Lead the integration of emerging technologies to enable next-generation operational capabilities
Influence the design and development of future Bombardier products, including manned aircraft with increased autonomy and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs)
Drive research and technology initiatives to evaluate and incorporate cutting-edge solutions into aircraft architecture
Provide technical leadership and guidance on system-level design decisions impacting safety, performance, and innovation
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure architecture solutions align with overall product strategy and regulatory requirements
Monitor industry trends and advancements in power distribution to inform technology roadmaps
Represent Bombardier in technical forums, partnerships, and collaborations related to autonomy and advanced flight systems
Requirements:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
Formal training in Systems Engineering is an asset
Eligible for the Canadian Controlled Goods security clearance
7+ years of experience in aircraft or complex-system development and certification, including systems engineering, conceptual design, architecture definition, and requirements-based verification
Strong knowledge of ARP4754 and ARP4761 is essential
Experience developing electrical load analysis for aerospace and/or military programs
In-depth knowledge of requirements management tools and processes
Curiosity and openness to exploring new technologies and architecture for electrical power distribution
Ability to apply strong analytical and systems-thinking skills to structure complex problems and maintain clarity across disciplines
Passionate about innovating aerospace technology and motivated by long-term goals that shape future platforms
Communicate effectively, tailoring technical concepts and project updates to diverse audiences, and clearly articulate status and risks to stakeholders at all levels
