Summer internship for engineering student pursuing a degree in engineering (preferably in Mechanical Engineer, Manufacturing, Industrial engineering, or similar field). An ideal candidate will be organized, willing to be hands on, and have the ability to take on a variety of roles within the EPT (Engineering Projects Team).
Job Responsibility:
Help in leading CI(Continuous Improvement) initiatives within the EPT
Own a deployment Area(s) and work through 5S steps by organizing team efforts and ensure long time sustainability in the end
Organize meetings and inspire team members
Ensure everything has a place and everything in it’s place
Scrap unnecessary items and improve overall cleanliness
Research and purchase necessary organizational items
Design and build necessary equipment using machining expertise
Leading or assisting in other projects as necessary in the areas of: Process Improvements, Safety, Cost Savings, Equipment Assembly and troubleshooting of existing projects
Projects could include the following applications: Prototyping and 3D Printing, Running controlled experiments and tests, Understanding on BD Manufacturing processes, Hands on Machining, Project planning and report outs
Requirements:
Pursuing Bachelors of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineer, Manufacturing, Industrial engineering, or a related engineering discipline from a recognized, accredited university
Currently enrolled in an accredited University in between Sophomore to Junior or Junior to Senior year
Experience to feel proficient in SolidWorks drawings and modeling techniques
Ability to work at the Sandy facility for the internship period of time
Need US Citizens Or GC Holders Only
Nice to have:
Ability to take on multiple tasks: prioritization and working on multiple projects
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Principles in industry or coursework
Willingness to learn, be self-motivated, proactive, and having demonstrated leadership skills
Desire to make an impact in the medical device industry
