A national law firm is seeking a Professional Indemnity Associate to join its specialist insurance disputes team in Birmingham. This is a great opportunity to handle complex, high-value claims work while building long-term relationships with major insurers and professional clients. The team advises across a wide range of sectors, giving you exposure to matters involving lawyers, construction consultants, financial advisers and brokers. With a strong pipeline of work and a collaborative culture, this is a role that offers both quality and variety.

Job Responsibility

  • Defending professional negligence claims across legal, construction, financial and insurance sectors
  • Advising insurers on coverage, liability and strategy
  • Running your own caseload of litigated and pre-litigated claims, with support on larger disputes
  • Representing clients in court proceedings, mediation and arbitration
  • Helping to mentor junior colleagues and contributing to business development

Requirements

  • Experience of insurance litigation, ideally with a focus on professional indemnity
  • Strong technical skills, with excellent drafting and analytical ability
  • Commercially minded and confident in client-facing work
  • Organised and proactive, able to manage multiple files effectively
  • A team player with the enthusiasm to contribute to a growing practice
