Job Description

We’re recruiting on behalf of a well-established, independent insurance brokerage based in Bristol, recognised for providing tailored Professional Indemnity solutions to a diverse range of professional clients. The business supports firms across sectors such as consultancy, technology, creative, financial, management and other professional services, offering a high level of technical expertise and client service. Due to ongoing growth, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Professional Indemnity Account Handler to join their specialist team.

Job Responsibility

  • Managing renewals, mid-term adjustments and new business enquiries
  • Preparing, negotiating and presenting PI quotations
  • Liaising with insurers, underwriters and professional clients
  • Ensuring policies are accurate, compliant and well-documented
  • Providing technical advice on coverage, wordings and insurer requirements
  • Supporting clients throughout the policy lifecycle

Requirements

  • Experience handling Professional Indemnity insurance within a brokerage environment
  • Strong understanding of PI products and insurer markets
  • Confident communicator with good attention to detail
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Client-focused with a proactive approach
  • Cert CII (or working towards) desirable but not essential

  • Provide full insurance broking services to our customers e.g. issuing renewal documentation including renewal comparisons and market research to ensure the best terms, finalise insurance placements and update policy schedules
  • Assist in Mid-Year alterations and customer queries
  • Assist with claims handling
  • Ensure New Business/Renewal targets are achieved
  • Identify new business opportunities and follow up by issuing quotations to the customer
  • Develop strong relationships with customers and support them with any queries, making suggestions to them to improve their cover arrangements
  • Maintain good file management and documentation to ensure compliance with all legal requirements, Central Bank codes and Brown & Brown Ireland procedures and business ethics
  • Manage aged debt and premium collection
  • Deal with insurance companies on behalf of customers including staying abreast of their risk appetites
  • Stay up to date with market practice giving feedback to the Team in relation to market issues, including pricing, service levels and product development
