Job Responsibility:

  • Support Business Aircraft Operations teams (Challenger Aircraft programs) in their daily functions by understanding and resolving aircraft avionics and electrical issues
  • Resolve problems and answer technical questions through NCRs (Non-Conformity Reports) raised by Quality Agents
  • Establish a cognizance with governing Functional Test Engineering Requirements (FTER) and ensure technical correlation to production Functional Test Procedures (FTP)
  • Suggest and support corrective actions to governing technical requirements via engineering document changes, in line with achieving excellence objectives
  • Ensure adherence to MRB (Material Review Board), quality, and engineering procedures
  • Work in close cooperation with other engineering disciplines within core, in-service engineering business units within the avionics systems knowledge domains
  • Work in close cooperation with other disciplines such as production, quality, logistics, methods, etc
  • Work in a high paced environment with evolving priorities

Requirements:

  • Electrical engineering bachelor’s degree
  • At least 5-8 years of relevant experience
  • Strong functional understanding of avionics/electrical systems, and cabin interior systems
  • Good knowledge of mechanical control systems, propulsion control systems, and hydraulic power control systems
  • Good knowledge of aerospace technical knowledge domains including flight sciences, electrical interconnect systems (EWIS), and electro-magnetics (EMIC)
  • Strong understanding of aircraft level systems engineering definition, integration, and certification
  • Cognizant of FAR25 regulations, OEM certification & supplier design documentation, including the qualification requirements pertaining to avionics and electrical systems
  • Strong ability for systems functional troubleshooting required for production fault isolation and root cause analysis
  • Good understanding of EWIS requirements, specifically, harness routing standards, cable assembly manufacturing requirements, and be familiar in navigating related documentation
  • Previous MRB (Material Review Board) experience
  • Working experience using Teamcenter, SAP and MS Office
  • Must be bilingual (English and French), both written and spoken
  • Must be able to work with minimum supervision, be a team player, and maintain a “can-do” mindset including a “self-starter” attitude
  • Must also demonstrate initiative, a pro-active approach to problem solving, a natural sense of commitment, abilities required for structured planning, and priority execution, while maintaining sound technical judgment

  • Coordinate the backup diesel generator preventative and corrective maintenance program to ensure regular testing and service
