Job Description

The Lead Specialist is a role within the Professional Education department. The primary objective of this role is to support the company’s Digital Spine portfolio, specifically the growing VELYS Navigation System and TELIGEN Spine Surgical Visualization System technologies. The Lead Specialist will manage the entire learning cycle for Health Care Professionals (HCPs), from initial awareness through execution and program leadership. This role reports to the Senior Manager of Professional Education, Radica.

Job Responsibility

  • Organize, run, and create content for all HCP engagements
  • Set up and execute educational programs at various sites, including J&J Institutes located in Palm Beach Garden, Irvine, and Raynham
  • Lead clinical stations and guide groups of surgeons through technical procedures using both MIS (Minimally Invasive Surgery) and open techniques
  • Manage the complete learning cycle for surgeons, ensuring they are proficient in using the digital portfolio technologies

Requirements

  • Minimum of two years in a spine-related role, with a background in sales, marketing, or professional education
  • Must have a strong clinical foundation (e.g., knowledge of vertebral bodies and surgical procedures)
  • Must be comfortable with 50% travel, which typically translates to ~2.5 days away from home per week, often involving weekends
  • Ability to perform at a manager level

Nice to have

  • Prior experience supporting or teaching robotics and/or navigation
  • Hands-on experience with specific brand technologies: Navigation: Brainlab or Medtronic StealthStation
  • Robotics: Mazor X Stealth Edition (Medtronic) or Excelsius 3D (Globus)
  • Proven track record of leading high-level surgeon engagements with advanced technologies
  • Candidates with 5+ years of experience who are considered 'ninjas' or 'rockstars' in robotics may be considered for remote work
